Faye Tozer and Ashley Roberts have topped the first Strictly Come Dancing scoreboard of 2018.
The popstars scored the joint best marks of the opening night with 29 points out of a possible 40.
The pair had been tipped to do well before the series given their past dance experience and didn’t disappoint.
Ashley and pro partner Pasha Kovalev danced the Viennese Waltz to Perfect by Ed Sheeran featuring Beyoncé while Faye & Giovanni Pernice closed the show with a Cha Cha Cha to Lullaby by Sigala featuring Paloma Faith.
Joe Sugg with his pro partner Dianne Buswell were branded the night’s surprise by the judges with their Jive to Take On Me by A-Ha.
Craig Revel Horwood admitted he didn’t have much hope for the vlogger after the launch night group dance but said his first live performance “changed everything”.
At the other end of the leaderboard, Susannah Constantine & Anton du Beke left us with plenty to remember with their Samba to Tico Tico by Carmen Miranda.
They scored just 12 points – with Craig awarding just ONE point – after a “car crash” routine.
“The best part for me was when you fell on the floor at the end,” Craig quipped.
> Strictly Come Dancing 2018 leaderboard: Week 1 scores and results
Fortunately for Susannah, she’ll have the chance to boost her marks next weekend.
As usual, there was no public vote or elimination this first weekend but the judges’ scores will carry forward to Week 2 where they’ll be added to the marks for their second routines.
Week 2 will then see the public given their first chance to vote this year, with viewer votes combined with the judges’ marks to decide which celebs face the dance off.
Then the first celebrity will be eliminated in the Sunday results show.
