ITV is apparently worried that a spider infestation could put big name stars off taking part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2017.
After fifteen years, the reality show’s contestants are well aware that they’re likely to encounter eight-legged critters in the jungle.
However, there are concerns that the upcoming series could become overrun with venomous huntsman spiders.
According to the Daily Star, hundreds of the creatures have been found breeding near the show’s set on the Gold Coast in Australia.
Bosses are now hoping that their star signings won’t get cold feet at the prospect of sharing the camp with so many arachnids.
“They can’t believe their rotten luck,” a show insider commented.
“Stars who sign up to the show expect to be given a fright, but there’s a limit for everyone.
“The bigger names are their biggest worry because they don’t need the money as much and won’t risk it. It is a disastrous situation to find themselves in with time running out.”
While no names are official just yet, there have been quite a number of I’m A Celeb line up rumours .
With less than two weeks to go until the new series launches, names on the rumoured IAC cast for 2017 range from Goggleboxer Sandra Martin to Ex-Wimbledon Tennis champ Boris Becker.
Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby, The Saturdays’ singer Vanessa White, Hollyoaks hunk Jamie Lomas, former rugby player Ben Cohen MBE, Tattoo Fixers star Paisley Billings and The Only Way Is Essex’s Kate Wright have all been linked to the line up.
Made In Chelsea’s Georgia Toffolo is also said to have signed up, alongside Coronation Street actress Jennie McAlpine.
I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here launches on November 19 on ITV.
