Scarlett Moffatt and Baby Lame to host official RuPaul’s Drag Race UK podcast

Former Goggleboxer and popular London queen team up for BBC Three show spin-off

Scarlett Moffatt is teaming up with popular cabaret queen Baby Lame to host an official spin-off podcast for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

BBC Three’s new drag talent contest has been dropping loads of huge RuVeals this week, from its official start date to no less than three preview clips.

The Beeb also unveiled the ten contestants battling to become Britain’s first Drag Superstar.

Now there’s another surprise for fans who want as much Drag Race UK as they can possibly get – as it is launching an official podcast.

Gogglebox star-turned-presenter Scarlett Moffatt announced on her Instagram page that she’s hosting the audio show with Baby Lame.

“Can’t believe I’m announcing this, but I am hosting alongside Baby Lame the official podcast for @dragraceukbbc,” she wrote.

“Everybody who knows me knows I’m a huge, huge fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race since the very beginning, and all that it stands for and how much it helps the LGBTQ+ community.

“I can not wait to spill the tee, give you all the gossip and catch up with the queens.”

Baby Lame is an award-winning London drag act, who has performed alongside Drag Race stars Jinkx Monsoon and Ben DeLaCreme.

The self-proclaimed ‘punk-horror-drag superstar’ revealed on Instagram that she got the job after working on Drag Race UK’s early stages.

“Move over Phil and Holly, Moffatt & Lame are coming for your gigs babes!” she joked. “It’s been a big week for drag news, and I wanted some of the spotlight too!

“At the beginning of the year I was hired to do some writing and ideas development for DR UK.

“Six months later – I’ve been picked up by @bbcsounds to host the official @dragraceukbbc podcast with the INCREDIBLE ICON that is @scarlettmoffatt! We’ve got this – bring it on!”

Bosses hae yet to confirm details about the podcast, although it will presumably be available on all BBC Sounds platforms.

Drag Race US already has an official podcast, and heavily references RuPaul and Michelle Visage’s own show ‘What’s The Tee?’.

Busy Scarlett recently moved to Africa with her family to film new reality documentary The British Tribe Next Door.

She has also reportedly signed up The Great British Bake Off tent for its next celebrity specials.

RuPaul’s Drag Race begins on BBC Three on Thursday 3rd October at 8.00pm.
