Rylan Clark-Neal has described taking part in the Celebrity Apprentice as the “worst three days” of his life
For this year’s Red Nose Day campaign, Lord Sugar challenged ten ambitious celebrities to compete in a tough task in Celebrity Apprentice for Comic Relief.
Two teams of celebs went head to head with just 48 hours to organise and host a cabaret event – from booking performers, securing donations and gathering auction prizes, to dressing their venue and organising the catering for their event.
The girls’ team was led by interior designer Kelly Hoppen and included TV presenter and actress Amanda Holden, X Factor judge Ayda Williams, broadcaster and journalist Rachel Johnson and actress and comedian Tameka Empson.
Project Manager for the boys’ team was TV presenter Rylan, who was joined by comedian Omid Djalili, broadcaster Richard Arnold, comedian Russell Kane and football legend Sam Allardyce.
Recalling the show, which aired on BBC One last week, Rylan admitted: “The Apprentice was potentially the worst three days of my life!”
He told this week’s OK! Magazine: “You’re only allowed to do certain things at certain times, which is obviously what makes a TV show.
“It was like I was a contestant on The X Factor again where you’re not in control.
“I’ve worked so hard for the last seven years to be in control of when I go for a wee. And to be told I can’t go for a wee yet, I just found it really difficult!”
After the task, the celebs headed to the boardroom to face off with Lord Sugar where one team won and one celebrity was fired.
The Celebrity Apprentice aired across two episodes on BBC One last week.
You can catch up with Celebrity Apprentice for Comic Relief on BBC iPlayer now.
The Apprentice will return for a brand new series later this year.
Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day telethon will air this Friday night (March 15) on BBC One from 7PM.
