This weekend Strictly Come Dancing’s celebrity dancers and their professional partners once again each took to the dancefloor, this time for the Halloween special.

They were out again to impress the viewers at home – as well as the line up of judges Bruno Tonioli, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood in the studio.

Mike Bushell and Catherine Tyldesley had to dance again and it was Catherine who went home in a shock exit.

In tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing results, the judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes to decide the lowest scoring two couples facing the dance off.

This week that was and Mike Bushell and his partner Katya Jones and Catherine Tyldesley and her partner Johannes Radebe.

Both couples performed their routines again, Mike and Katya performed their Tango to What You Waiting For by Gwen Stefani and Catherine and Johannes performed their Cha Cha to Scared Of The Dark by Steps in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.

After both couples had danced a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts and it was a split decision.

Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Mike & Katya: “One couple for me really stepped it up a notch. The couple I’d like to save is Mike & Katya.”

Motsi Mabuse chose to save Catherine & Johannes: “I felt a strong performance, stronger body actions, stronger leg actions. I’m saving Catherine & Johannes.”

Bruno Tonioili chose to save Catherine and Johannes: “It’s hard because you’ve both done very, very well, but purely based on tonight I have to save the couple that got me tingling a little bit more and I have to save Catherine & Johannes.”

Head Judge Shirley Ballas had the deciding vote and chose to save Mike & Katya.

Shirley said: “Well, I thought both couples really step it up a notch and this is always the most difficult decision for me, but based on a good focus, difficult content, with some really beautiful footwork in there with stronger technical skills for me, cleaner and polished. I’m going to save Mike & Katya.”

When asked by Tess about her time on the show, Catherine said: “[Johannes], yeah, he’s like my best friend… just the opportunity to work with amazing people and get critiqued off amazing people.

“I never thought I’d say this, I’m going to keep it up because I fell in love with it! I’ve loved every second, this man has changed my life!”

Johannes added: “Okay Tess, the beautiful thing is that I need to thank Strictly Come Dancing for the opportunity…thank you.

“Most of all, I want to say thank you to this woman. She has been a light for me. Thank you for accepting me for who I am and for showing me joy every day. Thank you!”
