Love Island’s upcoming winter series will see Islanders having to share a villa with snakes and spiders, it’s been reported.
It’s been another huge year for the smash hit dating contest, with its popularity showing no signs of slowing.
The fifth run has set new records, hitting the 6million viewer mark for the first time thanks to those watching online via ITV Hub.
Now bosses are capitalising on Love Island’s success by giving us a double helping in 2020.
Bowing to popular demand for a winter edition of the show, series six will air early next year.
It will come from a brand new location, with the islanders coupling up in sunny South Africa.
And according to The Sun newspaper, the new location will bring a new experience for the Islanders as they’ll have to watch out for snakes, poisonous spiders and scorpions.
A source shared to the tabloid: “There will be a specialist medic on hand, too, so contestants can get urgent medical attention. Plus, if necessary, facilities to chopper them to a local hospital.
“This is a very different kettle of fish to filming in mainland Europe.”
A spokesperson for the show said: “As with all of our productions, the health and safety of both our cast and crew is our number one priority.”
The new series of Love Island is currently casting, with ITV on the hunt for sexy singletons to take part in the new series.
They ask: “ITV2 are looking for vibrant singles from across the UK who want to head to the Winter sun, in search of love ! The chosen cast will spend time in a luxury villa, getting to know one another, but to remain in paradise they must win the hearts of the public and their fellow Islanders who ultimately decide their fate on Love Island.”
