Love Island spoilers! Producers tease plans for this summer’s series

Love Island 2018 bosses have teased their plans for this year’s upcoming series.

Love Island will return to ITV2 this summer for its fourth season.

Show producers have revealed they’ve “got things up our sleeves” but admitted not even they know what will happen once it all starts.

“The show is written as it goes along,” producer Richard Cowle said. “So everyone is reacting to what’s happening on and then the format is being written as it happens… Whatever we have planned, (they) get ripped up pretty much every hour as the cast goes in.

“Everything we predicted hasn’t happened and whatever is happening is more exciting than we predicted. We just go for it.”

Producer Richard also insisted that all the relationships on the show were “genuine”.

Speaking as Love Island won a TV BAFTA for best reality show, he said: “They’re always genuine, however much you think you’re going in for a reason, you’re hit with very beautiful people, and things are going to happen.”

Love Island 2018 is expected to begin the first week of June.

After proving a ratings it last year, the new series is rumoured to be lasting longer than ever.

Series four has been tipped to air for eight weeks, seven days longer than last year’s record-breaking run.

Meanwhile, other rumours have claimed that producers are said to be planning an epic new twist to start the series.

An insider told The Sun newspaper previously: “They’re planning on the season opener beginning with two big villas – just like they introduced midway through last series.

“And they want to throw in nearly double the amount of contestants to really stir things up.

“Planning is still in the early stages but what is for sure is that it’s going to be bigger than ever.”

Caroline Flack will return to host the series alongside narrator Iain Stirling.
