Strictly Come Dancing winner Jay McGuiness has spilled all on the show’s off camera antics.
Jay today gave his say on Strictly’s seemingly constant relationship drama in the wake of Kevin Clifton and Stacey Dooley’s apparent romance.
The Wanted singer triumphed on the show in 2015 with pro partner Aliona Vilani.
During the series, the pair were forced to deny they were secretly together while at the same time actress Georgia May Foote ended up dating her pro dance partner Giovanni Pernice.
But Jay said even more went on that viewers weren’t aware of.
He recalled: “My year was just like every other year. There were two big romantic scandals, and half of that is in the papers, and half of it isn’t.”
Jay told ITV’s Loose Women: “And then there’s a bunch of stuff that goes on that you think, ‘Wow I’m really surprised that no one knows about this’.
“So much goes on. It’s just a bunch of really mad people in close proximity that don’t normally hang out.
“You have like athletes and pop stars and newsreaders, all together.”
However he said that Strictly itself wasn’t to blame.
He said: “I don’t think it’s anything to do with Strictly, it’s an element of being up close and personal with people. Then I don’t know, after the second show and people get on the champagne.
“The make-up women, they love a gossip! They’ll be saying, ‘Oh I think he likes you’ and ‘Oh I think she likes you.’ They stir it!”
Following Strictly, Jay is currently appearing in West End dance show Rip It Up with fellow Strictly stars Aston Merrygold, Louis Smith and Harry Judd.
The new series of Strictly Come Dancing will start on BBC One in September.
