Jamie Laing makes Great British Bake Off’s ‘worst EVER’ cake

Jamie Laing made the ‘worst EVER’ cake on the Great British Bake Off tonight.

This evening saw the latest celebrity special of the Great British Bake Off in support of Stand Up For Cancer.

In the third episode, Made In Chelsea star Jamie was one of four celebs to take on the challenge.

His family invented the McVitie’s digestive biscuit, prompting Jamie to boast: “Baking is in my genes.

“I want Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood to say: ‘You have made your grandfather proud.'”

However Jamie fell down at the first challenge: A simple loaf cake.

Jamie chose to make a banana loaf that he described as “delicious”.

But Paul Hollywood reacted after seeing the cake: “What has gone on?”

After tasting, he added: “That has got to be the worst cake ever baked in the tent. Ever.”

Meanwhile, Prue spat out her mouthful and commented: “That’s disgusting!”

The charity specials of Bake Off see a new line up of all star names each week who take part in three challenges before one celeb is crowned Star Baker.

Alongside Jamie, tonight’s show saw Leader of the Scottish Conservative Party Ruth Davidson, musical comedian Tim Minchin, and singer Ella Eyre.

Next week will be comedian and actor and presenter Griff Rhys Jones, comedian Lee Mack, Broadcaster Melanie Sykes and comedian Joe Lycett.

Meanwhile, Great British Bake Off will return for a main series later in 2018.
