Filming on the new series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here has reportedly been delayed.
The latest run of the ITV show is still expected to begin in November time, but pre-filming work with hosts Ant and Dec is said to have been postponed.
The Geordie duo were apparently meant to record a promo for the show this week but it’s been pushed back to allow Ant more time to recover following a stay in rehab.
News broke earlier this year that TV favourite Ant McPartlin had checked himself into a rehab facility for ‘drink and drugs problems’.
“It would have been the first day filming but with Ant away, there is no way they could get started,” a source told The Sun newspaper.
Ant was recently seen arriving in LA along with his agent.
“Ant needed some space away,” a TV insider told the tabloid. “Everyone completely understands.”
Back in July it was suggested ‘back up plans’ were being made if Ant was unable to make filming.
But sources claimed that co-host Dec wouldn’t front the show alongside any one else, after rumours that Holly Willoughby or Scarlett Moffatt could join him.
A source told the Daily Mirror: “Ant and Dec are a team with a huge emotional bond, they are like brothers and and Dec will only be hosting I’m A Celebrity with Ant by his side.
“They’ve got months yet to sort things out and the hope is that Ant will bounce back with another hit series of I’m A Celebrity and they will move on from this chapter in their career.”
I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here typically begins mid-November on ITV.
