I’m A Celebrity: ITV respond to ‘fix’ claims after Malique Thompson-Dwyer’s exit

I'm A Celeb's bag-gate

ITV have responded to ‘fix’ claims on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

It follows the latest elimination from the series last night.

The second campmate to be eliminated from I’m A Celebrity 2018 was revealed in Sunday’s results.

Hosts Holly and Dec informed Malique Thompson-Dwyer and Sair Khan that “it might be” them.

Unfortunately for Malique, they then revealed he’d be the second celebrity to leave the jungle.

But many viewers took to Twitter to comment on how Malique already had his bag packed and on when it was announced he’d be going.

“Did anyone else notice that Malique had his bag on before they even called his name or was that just me?” one remarked.

“Malique had his bag on…he knew he was going! It’s a fix!” claimed another.

ITV have now insisted that there is no fix or ‘tip off’ to the celebs about who is going home.

They said of the fix claims: “This is categorically not true.

“All celebrities find out who is leaving the jungle when Holly and Dec announce this on the show.”

Meanwhile, hosts Holly and Dec poked fun at the Twitter comments in tonight’s (Monday) show.

As they opened the latest public vote, the pair joked that the next celeb going home would be whoever already has their bag on.

Meanwhile, Malique’s departure came 48 hours after the first vote-off, when Noel Edmonds was sent packing in a shock result.

One celebrity will now leave camp every day until the grand final this coming Sunday.

The remaining nine contestants include John, TV presenter Nick Knowles, popstar James McVey, football manager Harry Redknapp and actor Rita Simons.

They’re living with TV’s ‘The Governess’ Anne Hegerty, comedy actor Emily Atack, Corrie star Sair Khan and singer Fleur East.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues every night at 9.00pm on ITV.

Spin-off Extra Camp airs immediately after the main show on ITV2.
