The Great British Bake Off’s New Year’s Special 2017 airs tonight and which bakers are back and when does it start?
Channel 4 has revealed two brand new Christmas specials will air this year.
The Great Christmas Bake Off and The Great Festive Bake Off will be broadcast by the channel this month.
It’s a time for spices, sweets and tasty baked treats as Prue Leith, Paul Hollywood, Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig bring some holiday cheer to The Great British Bake Off in two festive episodes.
In each episode, four former bakers from previous series will return to the tent to go head to head in three seasonal challenges to find out who will top the tree as Star Baker.
Tonight’s it’s party time in the tent for The Great Festive Bake Off. Four seasoned bakers return to create something to celebrate in three delectable challenges. Testing their prowess and trying to impress Paul and Prue will be Benjamina Ebuehi, Rob Billington, Rav Bansal and Sandy Docherty.
The Great British Festive Bake Off airs tonight, January 1, at 7:40PM on Channel 4.
It follows on from The Great Christmas Bake Off which aired on Christmas Day.
That special saw former GBBO bakers Paul Jagger, Beca Lyne-Pirkis, Selasi Gbormittah and Val Stones will face three yummy yuletide challenges – but will a Christmas miracle help them to ace it this time round?
You can catch up now on Channel 4.
Plus, surprise musical guests and some very dodgy Christmas jumpers bring the spirit of Christmas to the tent with judges, hosts and bakers all joining in with a spot of singing (and dancing) themselves.
The first ever full series of Bake Off on Channel 4 concluded earlier this year.
Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith judged 12 Bakers with 30 Challenges over 10 weeks for the eighth series of The Great British Bake Off.
Ending on a fabulous Final of small breads, iced biscuits and a Showstopper Entremet, Sophie was crowned winner of The Great British Bake Off 2017.
Sophie said “I am sure it will sink in but it hasn’t quite yet. The idea of winning was such a minute possibility. I don’t think I will forget this day for as long as I live.
“I have met some brilliant people and I got to the Final. It is beyond anything I have dreamed of. What a privilege.”
