Dancing On Ice 2019 first details confirmed as pro Daniel Whiston takes on new role

Dancing On Ice pro Daniel Whiston will take on a brand new role for the 2019 series.

The skater has been a professional on the ITV show for all ten of its series so far.

But for 2019 he’ll take on a new job as Associate Creative Director.

Dan said: “I’ve won the show three times, which makes now the perfect time to take the step up to this new role as Associate Creative Director, which will give me the opportunity to work closely with all of our new celebrities, and I can’t wait to get going.”

Dan joined the show for its original series in 2006, which he won with Gaynor Faye. He also won in 2010 with Hayley Tamaddon and 2013 with Beth Tweddle.

The new series of Dancing On Ice will air in January on ITV.

It’ll be the second run since its revival at the start of 2018 and eleventh series overall.

It was X Factor singer Jake Quickenden who was crowned the winner of Dancing On Ice’s comeback series at the beginning of the year.

Confirming the show’s return for 2019, Siobhan Greene, Head of Entertainment Commissioning, ITV, said previously: “The show’s welcome back has exceeded our expectations and it’s been fantastic to see the audience at home loving it.

“The recommission is a no brainer and it’s brilliant for everyone involved to know it’ll be back next year.”

Katie Rawcliffe, ITV Studios Creative Director, added: “All of us missed Dancing on Ice while the show was off screen and it seems all our viewers did too… our on screen changes have been brilliantly received and we’re looking forward to getting our skates on for series two.”

Dancing On Ice airs on ITV.
