Craig Revel Horwood has said Kelvin Fletcher is the one to beat on this year’s Strictly.
Former Emmerdale actor Kelvin has impressed both judges and viewers with his moves, despite not originally being a part of the line up.
Kelvin joined the cast at the last minute to replace Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing who was injured in the launch show.
At the half way point of the competition, Craig has tipped Kelvin to lift the glitterball – but warned he needs to work on his ballroom technique.
“If he reaches the final and dances the salsa, then I can definitely see him lifting the Glitterball trophy. Plus he’s loved by the nation,” Craig told the Radio Times magazine this week.
However, the Strictly judge added: “He struggles with ballroom. And because he came in super-strong from the start, it’s difficult to show the viewers a journey.
“If he can get some swing and sway into his ballroom, I think he’ll definitely be up to getting to the final.”
Craig suggested the 2019 series was one of the most competitive yet, revealing: “They all want to win. It’s quite competitive, and they’re all applying themselves like you would not believe.”
Alongside Kelvin, Craig thinks Michelle is one to watch.
“I didn’t think that she’d be as good as she is. She’s got everything — the talent, the ability, the musicality,’ He confessed. “She’s a driven woman and definitely the one forcing her pro partner Giovanni to rehearse for longer hours…
“She’s out there to win, and she is getting stronger each week.”
The remaining eight couples will take to the dancefloor this week when Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday 9th November at 6.45pm on BBC One.
The results show airs on Sunday 10th November at 7.20pm as another celebrity will be heading home.
Those that make it through the latest show will head north to Blackpool.
