Craig Revel Horwood ‘signs new Strictly Come Dancing contract worth £200k’

Craig Revel Horwood has signed a new deal to see him continue as a Strictly Come Dancing judge.

Craig has been on the panel of the BBC One show since its very first series back in 2004.

According to the Daily Mirror, Craig has renewed his contract on Strictly for another year – and he has no intention of ever leaving.

The tabloid claims that Craig’s new deal is worth £200,000, a £20,000 increase on his previous fee.

Craig told the newspaper: “I have just signed for another year and I am looking forward to it. I have no intention of leaving.

“As I have said, the only reason I would only leave if I was told I could not speak my mind. I haven’t been told that, so I am staying.”

Meanwhile, Craig also shared news of another project of his.

“I have an album coming out soon. A duets album. It is coming out next year. It is with a lady called Rietta Austin,” he announced. “I am going to be singing three new songs written by Rietta and myself and some cover versions.

“I am doing it as we have always wanted to do it. I like to think I can sing. I would say leave that to the audience to decide.”

Currently joining Craig on the Strictly Come Dancing panel are Bruno Tonioli, new judge Motsi Mabuse and head judge Shirley Ballas.

Strictly’s 17th series continues Saturday and Sunday nights on BBC One with four couples set to return to the dancefloor next weekend for the semi-final.

Only three will make it through to the grand final where one will lift the Glitterball.

Actor Kelvin Fletcher, best known for his time on ITV soap Emmerdale, is currently the hot favourite for victory.
