Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley is rumoured to be joining Strictly Come Dancing.
The actress appeared on the ITV soap in the role of Eva Price for seven years before leaving in 2018.
Now she’s rumoured to be taking on a different challenge, according to tabloid reports.
The Sun newspaper claims Catherine is in “advanced talks” with producers to sign up for this year’s cast.
A source shared: “Catherine loves the glitz and glamour of the show.
“Producers think she’ll be a great signing because of her strong fan following and her bubbly personality. They can see her going far in the competition.”
Catherine herself recently hinted about taking part in the series, saying: “I adore Strictly — it’s one of my favourite ever shows.
“I would genuinely love to learn to dance, because I can’t dance.”
The new series of Strictly Come Dancing is expected to launch in September.
More recently rumoured celebs for the line up include Olympic rower James Cracknell and Drag Race star Michelle Visage.
A source said of the latter potential signing: “Since she is known as the fiery judge on Drag Race, producers are pre-empting her clapping back at any of the harsh comments from the Strictly panel, which will make great TV.”
The pair join an ever increasing list of names linked to the 2019 series.
Also tipped for the ballroom are Happy Mondays performer Bez, model Vogue Williams, former England manager Sam Allardyce and Blue Peter’s Radzi Chinyanganya.
Yet more celebs touted for Strictly Come Dancing are Tamara Ecclestone, Chris Evans and Popstars Boyzone’s Keith Duffy and Atomic Kitten’s Natasha Hamilton.
Meanwhile, this year’s Strictly Come Dancing is set to feature a shake up on the judging panel.
A spot on the Strictly panel opened up earlier this year when Darcey Bussell made the surprise announcement she was quitting.
Darcey has been a judge on Strictly for seven years, sitting alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and head judge Shirley Ballas.
