Cheryl won’t rule out a Girls Aloud reunion: ‘Never say never’

Cheryl says she won’t rule out a Girls Aloud reunion.

Put together on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, Girls Aloud enjoyed a string of successful albums and tours before splitting for good in 2013.

There have already been rumours about a potential reunion to mark what would be their 20th anniversary – and Cheryl’s not ruling it out.

Promoting her new solo single Let You, Cheryl said she may well end up on stage with bandmates Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh again.

“I’ll say never say never, you never know if it might happen,” Cheryl told the Daily Mirror newspaper. “We’ve already done a reunion though so I feel like we’ve been there, done that, we’ve had our turn.

“But I’ll never say it’s a definite that it won’t happen again one day.”

Speaking back in 2017, both Nadine Coyle and Cheryl gave their backing to a Girls Aloud reunion – despite their rumoured previous feuds.

“I would love a reunion, I really would – whether its in two years or 20 years,” Nadine told Closer magazine.

Meanwhile, Cheryl said: “We had an amazing time when we were together. I watched a tour thing the other day online and it brought back lots of memories. I was feeling really nostalgic.”

For now, Cheryl’s focus is on her solo career.

But fans expecting a new album from the Fight For This Love hitmaker may be waiting a while.

Cheryl said: “I’m not going to do an album just yet because I need to do some more singles first.

“People don’t want to wait for an album, they want single after single after single and they want to be able to get them immediately, there and then, they don’t want to wait.”
