BBC One’s Les Misérables adaption concludes tonight: Here’s all you need to know from the cast to the start date.
The new six part series by Andrew Davies will be led by Dominic West and David Oyelowo.
Directed by Tom Shankland, the drama is an adaptation of Victor Hugo’s 19th century classic rather than the popular stage musical from Claude-Michel Schönberg, Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel.
Les Misérables cast
Dominic West (The Affair, Tomb Raider, Appropriate Adult) will star as Jean Valjean, and David Oyelowo (Selma, Gringo, Spooks) as Javert, in BBC One’s landmark drama adaptation of Les Misérables. Both additionally take up roles as Executive Producers.
They are joined in the epic new event drama by Lily Collins (Rules Don’t Apply, Tolkien, Love, Rosie), in the role of Fantine.
The distinguished British cast also includes Adeel Akhtar (The Night Manager, Murdered By My Father, Utopia) and Olivia Colman (Murder On The Orient Express,The Night Manager, Broadchurch) as Monsieur and Madame Thénardier, Ellie Bamber (Nocturnal Animals, Pride And Prejudice And Zombies, The Nutcracker And The Four Realms) as Cosette.
Completing the all star ensemble cast are Josh O’Connor (The Durrells, God’s Own Country, Ripper Street) as Marius and Erin Kellyman (Raised By Wolves, Uncle, The Coopers Vs The Rest) as Éponine.

The Les Misérables air date was previously announced for BBC One on Sunday, 30 December at 9pm to 10pm.
This weekend, Sunday February 3, sees the sixth and final episode.
The army prepares for the next assault on the barricades and the fighting becomes more bloody and desperate.
When Jean Valjean (Dominic West) finds Marius (Josh O’Connor) he feels conflicted about the young man who wants to take Cosette (Ellie Bamber) from him.
Javert (David Oyelowo) is baffled and infuriated by Valjean’s behaviour towards him. As Valjean’s selfless actions shatter Javert’s worldview, he is sent into a turmoil from which he will never recover.
Valjean makes the ultimate heartbreaking decision thinking he is doing the best for his daughter Cosette, but underestimates the depth of her love for him.
