Anton du Beke insists he’s NOT quitting Strictly Come Dancing

Anton du Beke has denied claims that he’s set to quit Strictly Come Dancing 2018.

Following the opening two weekends of live shows, Sunday was the first dance off and elimination.

Once all was said and done, Susannah Constantine and Anton Du Beke were the first celebrity couple to leave Strictly Come Dancing 2018.

Following the elimination, there were claims that Anton was set to quit the BBC One series.

An insider claimed to the Daily Mail newspaper: “Anton is really unhappy as he feels like he gets the joke acts or the ones who can’t dance at all.”

But Anton hit back at the reports on Twitter.

The currently last standing original pro dancer said: “My loves, some people are reporting I’m quitting the show. Absolute rubbish! I’m NEVER quitting. Whether they want me or not, I’m never going! ? Love you all and love @bbcstrictly! #BBCstrictly”

He added after last night’s episode: “Hello my loves! I want to thank everyone who voted for me and Susannah. Even though our Strictly journey has ended we’ve had the best time together and have loved every minute of it! Thank You x #Strictly2018”

When asked by host Tess Daly about her time on the show, Susannah said: “I know it has gone a bit quick, but you know what I just feel so lucky to have had three weeks learning to dance with Anton and to have met all these amazing people.

“And for me they are the most important and I feel really privileged to have met them all, and it has been amazing. And thank you (judges) you’ve made the right choice you guys, Lee and Nadiya were brilliant but Anton is still the king!”

Anton was asked if he had any words for Susannah Anton said: “It’s just all too brief, I have had the most fabulous time with Susannah, she is going to be a great loss to the show. Sadly someone’s got to go but I wish it wasn’t you because you’re wonderful to be with.

“I’m going to miss spending time with you in the studio, we’ve had a great time, we’ve had enormous amounts of fun and you’re wonderful and thank you very much indeed.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday and Sunday nights on BBC One.
