AJ Pritchard defends brother Curtis after Love Island drama

AJ Pritchard has defended brother Curtis’ actions on Love Island 2019.

Things appeared to be going well for Curtis and Amy Hart on the show, up until this week’s Casa Amor twist.

Although the pair recoupled, Curtis confessed to having feelings for new girl Jourdan Riane who he snogged as part of a task.

Curtis’ confession left Amy in tears last night but his brother, Strictly Come Dancing pro AJ, has jumped to his defence.

Appearing on ITV’s Lorraine today, he said: “It’s been portrayed that he’s kind of cheated on her, whereas realistically, yes he kissed another girl, but that was in a task.

“He slept outside with Tommy in a bed. I feel like [Amy] does have to trust in Curtis, I know that it is hard.”

AJ also accused the girls of the villa of getting involved.

“The girls are blocking Amy. My advice was just go and talk to Amy and say exactly how he feels,” he said. “Curtis wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s so honest, he literally can’t lie and that’s sometimes his downfall, sometimes I feel like, ‘Just say it this way, it’ll come across maybe nicer than the way you’ve said it…’

“For me, stick to what you’re doing. Stick to your heart. He was a bit upset last night. It was difficult, I just wanted to give him a hug. Tommy then walked over and gave him a hug, seeing that true friendship, Curtis needs that.”

AJ added: “I think he should stay with Amy. Curtis does what he feels and he wants to get back with her.”

In yesterday’s episode, Curtis relayed how his discussion with Jourdan went whilst Amy was in Casa Amor, confessing he said he would recouple with Jourdan if the Recoupling was soon after that discussion, which breaks Amy’s heart.

Curtis admitted: “I said I would recouple with her and she said no basically.”

Amy replied: “So she said no, so you were like ‘Oh right then go back to Ames.”

Love Island 2019 airs nightly on ITV2.
