X Factor’s 5 After Midnight become a duo as Kieran Alleyne leaves the group

Kieran Alleyne has left 5 After Midnight, leaving the former X Factor finalists as a duo.

5AM were finalists on The X Factor in 2016, finishing third behind runner up Saara Aalto and winner Matt Terry.

Made up of Kieran, Jordan Lee and Nathan Lewis, they signed a record deal with Simon Cowell’s Syco record label last year.

The boys put out their debut single Up In Here last summer, followed by an EP in November.

However it was reported last week that they had left the record label.

A spokeswoman for Syco confirmed: “5 After Midnight and Syco have parted ways. We wish the boys all the success in their future endeavours.”

Now Kieran has announced he has left the group.

He posted a message to Twitter this evening, telling followers: “Hi guys. I wanted to thank you for all the support and love you have given me over the years. I have reached a point in my career where life has thrown me lots of huge opportunities to grow as an artist and as a man.

“I wanted to tell you myself that I have made the difficult decision to leave the band 5am and 110% focus on becoming a solo artist off the back of the recent changes.

“I love this industry its my life. I wish Nathan and Jordan every success and they will be superstars in their chosen paths too so please continue to support them and 5am.

“I want to thank everyone who has supported us and me on the journey. The next chapter has started now and I have been working with some amazing writers and producers on my music.”

5 After Midnight’s official account then tweeted: “Things always seem to fall apart when your grinding/graphing and things may seem to look lost but never to worry there a God .-J”
