Who is Unicorn on The Masked Singer? True identity is revealed – spoiler!

Who is Unicorn on The Masked Singer? His identity has been unmasked in the latest episode (February 1).

The Masked Singer is the brand new Saturday night singing show airing on ITV.

A line up of familiar faces go head to head to put on the best musical performance – but keep their true identities behind elaborate masks and costumes.

Even their voices are disguised as they give interviews and reveal clues to their identity.

One of the seven remaining contestants ahead of Saturday’s show was Unicorn – but who is behind the mask?

In the latest episode (Saturday, February 1), it was revealed that Unicorn was American singer-songwriter and Scissor Sisters star Jake Shears.

He said: “I knew that this would be one of the most unique situations I would ever be in, and I was correct.

“One of the perks of what I do is sometimes getting to have very unique experiences, this was no exception. Also, I love masks, love ridiculous costumes, I love entertaining at all cost! I love singing. It was a no-brainer.”

Clues leading to Unicorn’s identity included him growing up on a small Island where he always stood out from the crowd.

Unicorn flew on a private plane as a child and tap danced their way through school.

In their latest performance, his song choice – which was revealed to be a clue to his identity – was Sharp Dressed Man by ZZ Top.

Other hints revealed links to magic, New York City and the musical Kinky Boots.

Alongside Unicorn, those left on the first series of the UK show ahead of this week’s episode were Octopus, Hedgehog, Monster, Fox, Duck and Queen Bee.

This weekend saw a double elimination as TWO singers had their real identities unmasked.

Fronted by Joel Dommett, the show this week featured a panel including Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and – for this week only – Sharon Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne.

The Masked Singer UK airs Saturday night at 7PM on ITV.
