The Voice UK spoilers! Watch a first look at the tense battle rounds

Here’s a first look at The Voice UK 2018 battle rounds on ITV as this year’s competition heats up

It’s the start of The Battles on The Voice next weekend as coaches, Jennifer Hudson, Sir Tom Jones and Olly Murs start to cut down their teams.

Over the past seven weeks of blind auditions, each coach has built up teams of ten talented acts.

But they can only take five through to the next round.

As the acts go head to head, doing battle in the studio those that impress their coach remain in the competition with a chance of winning a recording contract with Polydor Records.

Will those that aren’t so lucky get stolen by the other coaches or will they be going home?

The format remains the same as it always has done. Each coach will pair up their acts in a series of musical duels. Both acts will share the stage, singing the same song.

After each performance, all the coaches will offer their comments and opinion but the pair’s mentor alone will decide the winner who will go in to the knockout rounds.

However it’s not necessarily all over for the loser with the the return of the steal twist.

Each coach is able to save one of the battle ‘rejects’ and steal them for their own team in the knockout rounds.

Those lucky enough to be stolen will switch teams and go forward into the competition but those left will be out of the contest for good.

The Voice UK battles will air from next Saturday night.

The first part of The Voice UK 2018 battle rounds will air Saturday night, 24th February at 8:30PM.

Those that survive the battles will head through to the knockouts.

The live shows will then follow before the public choose the winner.
