Singer Michael Rice is the UK Eurovision 2019 entry and here is his song for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019.
The UK Eurovision entry 2019 was confirmed in February and Michael will be representing us in Israel in May.
The results of the UK Eurovision song selection contest aired live in February with Eurovision: You Decide seeing six prospective acts performing for the honour of representing the United Kingdom at Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Hosted by Mel Giedroyc and winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, Måns Zelmerlöw, the 90-minute UK Selection show was broadcast live on BBC Two from Dock10, MediaCity UK in Salford.
Michael and his song Bigger Than Us, written by Laurell Barker, Anna-Klara Folin, John Lundvik and Jonas Thander, will head to Tel Aviv in May after being chosen in the live show.
On the night, an ‘expert panel’ of Rylan, Marvin Humes and Mollie King offered comments on the performances.
After all six contenders had performed the songs, viewers got the chance to vote for their favourite and Michael topped the vote.
Michel is no stranger to singing talent shows: He previously auditioned for The X Factor in 2014 and last year, he became the first winner of BBC One’s singing show All Together Now.
He first got into music teaching himself to play piano from YouTube videos after his mum bought him a keyboard
Michael said about his song: “My version of Bigger Than Us is such an epic, big song with a big key change and harmonies, and I think the lyrics resonate with everyone.”
Other contenders who took part in the You Decide show included girl group MAID, Jordan Clarke, Holly Tandy, Kerrie-Anne and Anisa.
The 64th Eurovision Song Contest will take place at the Expo Tel Aviv in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The Semi Finals will air on 14 and 16 May 2019 on BBC Four and the Grand Final will be broadcast on 18 May 2019 on BBC One.
