Top Of The Pops 2017 air date and performers

Top Of The Pops is once again back today for the first two festive specials in 2017 on Christmas Day and New Years Eve.

The first show on Christmas Day will air later today on Monday, December 25 between 12:20pm-1:20pm

Top of the Pops returns with its Christmas special featuring some of the biggest names in pop music from 2017. Those performing include Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Clean Bandit, Rita Ora and The Script.

Fearne Cotton and Clara Amfo will present the one hour special that will celebrate the biggest hits and most successful acts of the year, concluding with the all-important Christmas Number 1.

Clara, who is the first new presenter of the biggest pop party on TV in well over a decade, is joining Fearne in place of Reggie Yates who stepped down from TOTPs earlier this year.

Clara hosts Radio 1’s mid-morning show (weekdays, 10am-1pm) – the home of Radio 1’s Live Lounge – where some of the biggest and best new artists in the world, from Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Jay Z to Stormzy, Wolf Alice and Royal Blood, line up to perform their own hits as well as unexpected covers.

She says: “I’m so happy and honoured to be presenting Top of the Pops alongside Fearne. It’s an iconic show that I’ve grown up with and continue to enjoy watching, especially during the festive season. 2017 has been a rich year in pop and I can’t wait to celebrate it with the artists, Fearne and everyone at home.”

Following the Christmas special, a New Year’s special will air a week later. The second 2017 special will celebrate the biggest hits and most successful acts of 2017.

Fearne Cotton and Clara Amfo will celebrate the biggest hits and most successful acts of 2017 during a Top Of The Pops New Year’s special.

The show, that will showcase 2017’s greatest hits and brightest chart stars to BBC One audiences, includes a star-spangled line-up of performances from James Arthur, Craig David feat Bastille, Paloma Faith, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa and Rita Ora.

The New Year’s special will also share the last Number 1 of 2017.
