The Voice UK coaches reveal their biggest competition

The Voice UK coaches have revealed who they think their biggest competition is.

Jennifer Hudson, Will.i.am, Olly Murs and Sir Tom Jones are currently in the process of selecting their finalists for the live shows.

Each coach picked their first semi-finalist in Saturday’s knockout rounds and will pick a second next weekend.

Ahead of the second round of knockouts, the coaches have been eyeing up the competition.

Both Jennifer and Will reckon that Tom is the one to watch.

“He knows how to pick a voice. With his experience accompanying that – he’s the biggest competition for us all. This is Tom Jones we’re talking about here!” Jennifer said.

Will agreed, saying his biggest competition was “always” Tom.

Meanwhile, Sir Tom reckons Olly has the team to watch.

He explained: “Because Olly has got Jimmy Balito who was on my team but I lost him when I paired him with Roger at the Battles. Thank God Olly stole him because he’s so strong that kid. He could be real competition.”

And as for Olly, he said: “I think my biggest competition is myself!

“I’ve got to raise my game, to make sure I make the right decisions and make sure I take the perfect two people through to the semi-final. Every Coach’s team is really strong. We all have the right tools to win it, it’s going to come down to making the right decisions and that, for me, is pressure on myself.

“I need to make sure I pick the right songs for these guys and that we deliver what I think they can do. And if they can reach their potential – I think we can win it.”

The Voice UK 2019 continues this Saturday night with the second round of knocouts.

A total of eight acts chosen by the coaches will make the live semi-finals.

They’ll be joined by a ninth wild card act as voted for by viewers in a new wild card twist.

The public will ultimately vote for their winner in the live final, with the champion receiving a record deal with Polydor records.
