Chloe sings Sara Bareilles hit from musical Waitress

11-year-old Chloe Dring wowed The Voice Kids coaches this weekend with a cover of She Used To Be Mine.

Will.i.am, Pixie Lott and Danny Jones and Jessie J are the coaches on The Voice UK this year.

Tonight (June 22) saw the third round of blind auditions. Jessie, Will and Danny were all seeking five more acts each to add to their teams, whilst Pixie had just four spots left to fill.

One of the acts the coaches found themselves impressed by was 11-year-old Chloe from Nottingham.

Chloe performed She Used To Be Mine by Sara Bareilles from West End musical Waitress and won herself a spot in the battle rounds.

Before her audition, Chloe said: “Singing on stage just feels amazing, it’s just what I love to do and there’s nowhere else in the world I want to be.”

Chloe told cameras how she applied last year but suddenly became ill forcing her to drop out of the audition after in hospital.

But now back on her feet, Chloe was determined to fight a place in the next round.

“The fact I got to come back this year and sing for the coaches means the absolute world to me,” she said.

Chloe got Pixie to turn for the performance, seeing the 11-year-old join her team.

“You’re on my team!” announced Pixie. “I could hear skill, some of those runs and long held notes, I was so impressed.

“You just did an amazing performance and the crowd were going crazy.”

“You’re a warrior,” Will.i.am added to the youngster.

Meanwhile, Chloe wasn’t the only one of this week’s contestants bringing a taste of musical theatre to the stage.

13-year-old Gracie from Wigan gave an incredible performance of It’s Quiet Uptown from hit musical Hamilton – but unfortunately failed to make the coaches turn.

Fronted by Emma Willis, The Voice Kids is open to talented young soloists between the ages of seven and 14.

Up for grabs for the winner of The Voice Kids this year is a £30,000 bursary towards their musical education plus a dream family holiday to Orlando.

The public will ultimately crown the winner of The Voice Kids in a live final later this year.

Those who make it through the blind auditions will go on to compete in the battle rounds later in the series.

The Voice Kids continues Saturday nights on ITV with more blind auditions.
