The Voice Kids 2018 RECAP! All the blind auditions from the first round

The Voice Kids returned tonight for the first round of blind auditions – here’s what went down.

Will.i.am, Pixie Lott and Danny Jones were back in the spinning red chairs for the start of the second series this evening.

Presented by Emma Willis, The Voice Kids is open to talented young soloists between the ages of seven and 14.

The winner will scoop a £30,000 bursary towards their musical education plus a dream family holiday to Disneyland Paris.

But the first step is winning a spot on one of the three teams with a performance in the blind auditions.

Just like in the mains show, the youngsters perform to a live band – but can they persuade the coaches to hit their buttons?

As always, if a coach decides to press their buzzer, they’ll secure that act for their team, although if more than one coach turns it’ll be the kid that picks which team to join.

And even if no coaches press their buzzer, they’ll still turn at the end of the performance so they can give feedback and encouragement, even if they didn’t press their buttons.

Here’s a recap of tonight’s first round of the blind auditions…

Shaney Lee

7-year-old Shaney Lee from Bristol arrived by horse to his blind audition. His country cover of John Denver’s Take Me Home, Country Roads got Pixie Lott to press her button, sending him through on her team.

Jacob

14-year-old Jacob from Essex got all three of the coaches to turn with his cover of Puttin’ On the Ritz. He chose to join Team Danny.

Lilia

10-year-old Lilia gave a “crazy” performance of Flashlight by Jessie J, hitting all the high notes to get all three of the coaches to spin. It was Pixie who won little Lilia for team.

Lucia

13-year-old Lucia belted out Alicia Key’s Fallin’ but sadly didn’t get any of the coaches to spin despite Will praising her “awesome” performance.

Jude

13-year-old Jude revealed he spent most of his time dancing, but was on The Voice UK to show another of his talents. Singing Bruno Mars’ When I Was Your Man, Jude won a spot on Team Will.

Drew

14-year-old Drew from Bolton impressed both Danny and Will with her take on Panic! At The Disco’s This Is Gospel, joining Team Danny.

Daniel

13-year-old Daniel from South Wales brought musical theatre to the Voice Kids stage, singing Seasons Of Love from Broadway hit Rent. There was a lot of love form the coaches too, with all three spinning for Daniel. He chose to join Team Pixie.

Issac

13-year-old Issac from Beccles in Suffolk brought plenty of energy with a cover of Aston Merrygold’s Get Stupid but unfortunately it didn’t get any of the coaches to turn.

Natasha

13-year-old Natasha from Manchester wowed with Demi Lovato’s Sorry Not Sorry and got all three coaches spinning around, deciding to join Team Will.

Sienna-Leigh

Nervous Sienna-Leigh admitted she found it hard to perform in front of audiences but did amazing with her cover of I Know Where I’ve Been from the musical Hairspray. With all three coaches spinning, Sienna-Leigh chose to join Team Will.
