Strictly’s Alexandra Burke and Gorka Marquez ‘at war’ in rehearsals

Alexandra Burke and Gorka Marquez are at war in the Strictly Come Dancing training room.

The pair, who are currently the favourites to win, have confessed that rehearsals often descend into shouting matches.

Gorka said: “She shouts more to me than I shout at her. She brings the beast out of me.”

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Alexandra said: “He’s scared of me. There was one time that he stopped mid-dance and I shouted and I screamed at him saying, ‘You are meant to be a pro, don’t ever stop’.

“He was like, ‘Whooah, OK girl. I will never stop again’.”

It was reported recently that Alexandra was ‘annoyed’ with pro partner Gorka over his flirting with fellow celeb Gemma Atkinson,.

It was claimed earlier last month that Gemma and Gorka’s apparent closeness was causing tension backstage.

Now according to more tabloid rumours, Gorka’s celeb partner Alexandra isn’t happy with him spending time with Gemma, who is partnered with Aljaz Skorjanec.

“Gorka is a professional and he is not giving up any of his rehearsal time with Alex to see Gemma,” a source explained. “Their romance doesn’t seem to distract him at all.

“But it is a sore point for Alex, who wishes she — and their dancing — was his sole focus. It really irritates her to see him flirting with Gemma.”

The insider added to The Sun newspaper: “Alex is at heart a nice girl but has an unshakeable competitive streak.”

Gorka previously downplayed any potential romance with Gemma, insisting that they’re nothing more than friends.

“We hang out together and do some workouts and I think she is beautiful,” said Gorka last weekend. “But we are just friends.”

Also speaking out on the reports, Gemma told the Daily Star: “I really don’t want to talk about my love life to be honest. I don’t feel I need to respond to anyone about what I’m doing.”

She added: “I’ve had to talk about who I’m dating for the past 15 years. You’ve got to take everything with a pinch of salt.”

Strictly Come Dancing 2017 continues Saturday night on BBC One.
