Strictly Come Dancing’s Ashley Roberts and Giovanni Pernice romance latest

Strictly Come Dancing’s Giovanni Pernice has given fans an update on his romance with Ashley Roberts.

Ashley, who danced with Pasha Kovalev in last year’s show, was linked to Giovanni, who was partnered with Steps singer Faye Tozer, during the series.

But only after filming had wrapped up, did the pair go public with their relationship.

“Yes, we are seeing each other,” Ashley announced in January. “And now the show is done we can spend a bit more time together. We’re getting to know each other, and it’s nice.”

In an interview with the Daily Mail newspaper, Ashley was coy over just when the pair got together.

“It’s just starting now! This is when it’s starting, but it’s still early days!” she said.

Now Giovanni says things are progressing well and they’re looking to move in together.

“It’s going amazing,” he told The Sun. “I’m hoping to take her home to Italy to meet my parents soon, and I’ll go to America to meet her family.

“We’ll be living in England together hopefully. We’re happy.”

When Strictly was on air it was claimed that the couple – who are both single – were in the “early stages of a new romance” after enjoying nights out together.

In November last year, Ashley spoke out about the rumours, telling ITV’s This Morning: “Giovanni and I are friends, and I am really really focused on the show. I am very passionate about being here and it’s about the dance for me, so… no, we are just friends. I’m single.”

Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley was one of the favourites to win last year’s contest while Giovanni joined Strictly as a pro in 2015. He previously dated his first celebrity partner Georgia May Foote before the couple broke up in 2016.

The news follows the much more controversial kiss between comedian Seann Walsh and his pro partner Katya Jones. Seann had a girlfriend at the time while Katya is married to fellow Strictly pro Neil Jones. The pair said sorry for their actions when pictures of their snog made front page news.

Meanwhile, in another apparent Strictly romance, Joe Sugg recently confirmed he and pro partner Dianne Buswell had also become a couple.

Strictly Come Dancing will be back later in 2019 for a new series.
