Ahead of the show’s launch in September, the celebrities have now been confirmed for the Strictly Come Dancing 2019 line up.
The last series of Strictly ended with Stacey Dooley lifting the glitterball.
But even before her victory, show bosses were speaking to potential Strictly 2019 contestants.
Host Tess Daly revealed at the time: “We’ve already been plotting and planning which celebrities are going to be approached next year. People have already been approached for next year. I’ve heard there’s a few who have already confirmed.”
Now Strictly Come Dancing bosses have unveiled the new line up of contestants who will be taking part for the 2019 series.
So who’s on Strictly Come Dancing 2019? Here’s a run down of the officially confirmed names on the show this year…

Emma Barton

EastEnders star Emma Barton has signed up for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing cast. Emma has played Honey Mitchell in the BBC One soap on and off since 2005, with her current stint starting in 2015.
David James

David James MBE is a former England No.1 goalkeeper. David, who has worked as a football analyst for the BBC & BT Sport, was awarded an MBE in 2012 for services to football and charity, hung up his boots in 2013 after finishing his career at Icelandic club IBV.

Chris Ramsey

Chris Ramsey is a stand up comedian and TV host. With two series of The Chris Ramsey Show (Comedy Central UK) under his belt, he is also a regular face on other entertainment shows such as Celebrity Juice (ITV2), Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC Two), 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4), The John Bishop Show (BBC) and Live at the Comedy Store (Comedy Central).
Saffron Barker

19-year-old Saffron Barker is a social media star who has over four million followers across her combined social channels and averaging 15 million views a month on her YouTube channels. In 2017 Saffron’s book ‘Saffron Barker Vs Real Life’ reached number one on the Sunday Times bestsellers list and her popularity has also gained her three successful homeware ranges with Primark.
Catherine Tyldesley

Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley is joining Strictly Come Dancing. The actress appeared on the ITV soap in the role of Eva Price for seven years before leaving in 2018.
Mike Bushell

BBC sports presenter Mike Bushell will join Strictly Come Dancing, following in the footsteps of Chris Hollins and Ore Oduba who both won the show. The TV host, who famously fell in a swimming pool live on air, was confirmed as a contestant on BBC Breakfast.

Karim Zeroual

Karim is a children’s television presenter on CBBC. Karim started his career as a child in West End shows including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium, The Far Pavillions at the Shaftesbury Theatre and The Lion King at the Lyceum. His TV appearances include EastEnders, Da Vinci’s Demons, Blue Peter, and the role of Sadiq in sci-fi drama The Sparticle Mystery.
Viscountess Emma Weymouth

Emma Thynn, Viscountess Weymouth is a businesswoman, chef, model and philanthropist. Following her marriage in 2013 to Ceawlin Thynn, Viscount Weymouth, Emma became the chatelaine of the Longleat Estate in Wiltshire. In 2015 Emma launched ‘Emma’s Kitchen’ at Longleat. She is also a contributing editor for British Vogue, makes regular appearances as a guest chef on James Martin’s Saturday Morning TV show and is a model and ambassador for various brands.
Michelle Visage

Michelle Visage is an American singer, television host, radio DJ, and media personality. Michelle is most well-known for being a member of the band Seduction and appearing as a judge on the American reality competition television series RuPaul’s Drag Race since season three and will appear on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, which is set to air on BBC Three this October.
Will Bayley

Will is a World Table Tennis Paralympic champion. In January 2017 Will was awarded an MBE for services for Table Tennis and is currently training to defend his Paralympic title at the Tokyo 2020 games. He recently won Gold at the Japan Open 2019.

Jamie Laing

Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing is also confirmed for this year’s Strictly. The regular of the E4 series since 2011 and has previously featured on shows including Celebrity Great British Bake Off.
As well as his media presence, Jamie is also a successful businessman, having founded the sweets brand Candy Kittens in 2012.
Alex Scott

Footballer Alex Scott previously represented the England woman’s team as well as Team GB at the Olympics. Recently appearing as a pundit for the BBC at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Alex is now heading to the Strictly dancefloor.
Dev Griffin

Radio 1 DJ Dev Griffin has been confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2019. The broadcaster is best known for his weekend shows on Radio 1. He has also competed on Celebrity MasterChef, getting through to the final, as well as hosting BAFTA TV Awards and most recently appearing on Channel 4’s SAS Who Dares Wins for Stand Up To Cancer.

James Cracknell

Olympic rower James Cracknell is a gold medal winning athlete and is confirmed to be a part of this year’s line up of celebrity contestants on Strictly.
Anneka Rice

TV legend Anneka Rice joined the celebrity line-up for Strictly. Anneka rose to fame in the 80s donning her signature jumpsuit as the ‘skyrunner’ on Channel 4’s Treasure Hunt. She later moved on to BBC One’s Challenge Anneka, a format that she co-created, between 1989 and 1995.
Strictly Come Dancing 2019 will air on BBC One in the autumn.
The series typically kicks off in September.
