Another celebrity has left Strictly Come Dancing 2017 in tonight’s results.
This weekend Strictly Come Dancing’s celebrity dancers and their professional partners once again each took to the dancefloor to impress the viewers at home – as well as judges Shirley Ballas, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood in the studio.
Charlotte Hawkins and Davood Ghadami had to dance again and it was Charlotte who went home.
Tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing 2017 results
In tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing results, the judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes to decide the lowest scoring two couples facing the dance off.
This week, that was presenter and newsreader Charlotte Hawkins and her professional partner Brendan Cole; and EastEnders actor Davood Ghadami and his partner Nadiya Bychkova.
Both couples performed their routines again; Davood and Nadiya did their Viennese Waltz to Say You Love Me by Jessie Ware and Charlotte and Brendan performed their Jive to Marry You by Bruno Mars in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.
After both couples had danced a second time the judges delivered their verdicts with all four choosing to save Davood and Nadia.
Craig Revel Horwood said: I’d like to save the couple that I thought danced the best and who fixed a problem with a foot on the floor and that is Davood and Nadiya.”
Darcey Bussell added: “The couple who I’d like to save on giving a stronger technical performance is Davood and Nadiya.”
And Bruno Tonioli said: “Without a shadow of a doubt, I have to pick the couple who actually danced even better than Saturday night, Davood and Nadiya.”
Although her vote did not change the outcome, Head Judge Shirley Ballas agreed with her fellow judges, and said she too would have chosen to save Davood and Nadia.
As a result it was Charlotte Hawkins and her professional partner Brendan Cole who found themselves leaving the competition.
Charlotte said: “I’ve had an amazing time, such an amazing time, it’s been brilliant from start to finish, it really has been. A huge thank you to Brendan who has just been fantastic, we’ve had such a great time going through all the dances, you’ve always been there for me, getting my back, there with the support.
“A big thank you to everyone that voted, I had so much support from friends, colleagues, online, it’s been amazing and I loved the chance to come out here and dance. I was trying to get better, I’m going out knowing that I gave it my best and that’s all you can do.”
Brendan added: “Quite often you stand in this position and you go, ‘hey it was our time to go’ and perhaps today it was our time to go. Not often you stand here with such sadness and go ‘I’m going to miss this and I’m going to miss hanging out with this girl.’
“I’m going to miss dancing with her, I’ve had one of the best Strictly’s in 15 years and it’s hard for me to even say that and I feel really emotional.”
The remaining twelve couples will take to the dancefloor again next week when Strictly Come Dancing returns on BBC One.
