Stavros Flatley set to split after Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions

Britain’s Got Talent legends Stavros Flatley are set to split.

The iconic father and son duo first appeared on Britain’s Got Talent when they auditioned in 2009.

Returning to the stage recently for all star series Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions, dad Demetrios ‘Demi’ and son Michalakis ‘Lagi’ Demetriou showcased more of their famous dance moves.

Their performance won the golden buzzer from Simon Cowell, seeing the pair through to the grand final on Saturday where they’ll perform again.

However it could well be the pair’s last appearance together for the foreseeable future.

Lagi told The Sun newspaper: “We’ve done this for 10 years for a joke.

“We’ve done so many amazing things but what is there left to do? We’ve done the Royal Variety, we’ve played in China, Monaco – everywhere.

“So when we got to The Champions, I thought this was the right time to leave. But Simon Cowell told me not to quit forever. So I will return for some shows.”

According to Demi, Stavros Flatley will continue with nephew Samson taking over from Lagi.

“He has a six-pack – I’ve given up getting one of those,” revealed Demi.

Meanwhile a first look clip of Stavros Flatley’s final performance on Britian’s Got Talent: The Champions has been revealed.

In the clip, which you can watch below, the pair get judges David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell on their feet as they dance together.

Alongside Stavros Flatley, the acts in the Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions final include Sand Artist Kseniya Simonova, Father & Daughter Daredevils Bello & Annaliese Nock, Dog Act Alexa Lauenberger, dancers MerseyGirls and Salsa duo Paddy & Nico.

Joining them are Illusionist Darcy Oake, American comedian Preacher Lawson, dance duo Twist and Pulse and singing pair Bars and Melody.

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions final airs on ITV at 8:30PM on Saturday October 5.
