Simon Cowell has said he’s been in talks with Netflix and Amazon over his TV shows.
The music mogul said there were “many more opportunities” in the streaming era.
Speaking to the Daily Mail newspaper, Simon said: “We are having conversations with Netflix and Amazon and YouTube – all of them.
“It was 2000 when we started making these shows, and now there are many, many more opportunities, so we are going to be working with them.”
Simon added: “We get four or five calls a year from other broadcasters saying, ‘do you want to do a deal for one show, two shows, three shows, whatever?'”
The current contract between ITV and Simon for his shows The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent expires at the end of the year.
Sources insisted that there were “no plans” to move either show to streaming services, with an insider telling the Mail: “We hope he will be signing a new deal with ITV for the foreseeable future.”
Simon’s latest comments follow him announcing plans to shake up The X Factor this year with both a Celebrity and All Star version of X Factor this year.
The TV chief suggested that The X Factor will air two separate shows back to back this autumn, one seeing celebrities compete and the other featuring a line up of past contestants.
Simon told The Sun newspaper. “I’ve had a meeting with ITV, I’ve told them what I think we’d like to do with X Factor because we’ve been waiting to have this opportunity.”
Simon described the upcoming series as a “huge change”, continuing: “We haven’t exactly confirmed the dates or the order of the shows, but essentially there are going to be two versions of X Factor running this year.
“I think it’s going to be huge, it’s the best I’ve felt about this show in years.”
As yet, official plans for The X Factor this year have not been announced by ITV.
