Simon Cowell is ‘desperate for a knighthood’ says David Walliams

Simon Cowell is ‘desperate’ to get a Knighthood, his fellow reality telly judge David Walliams has claimed.

Comedian David, who judges on Britain’s Got Talent alongside Simon, says the X Factor boss is keen to get noticed by the Queen.

But David reckons such an accolade would be “annoying”.

Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show on ITV this Saturday night, David says: “He is so competitive. He thinks he should get a knighthood. Maybe one day he will.

“It would be annoying if he was Sir Simon. If you are a Sir then you have to call them that, so it is like heralding their arrival. He would not be shy about it.”

David concluded: “I hope and pray that he never gets one.”

David also reveals how Simon has begun a new cycling regime to get around London… sort of.

“His partner said, ‘Oh, he’s cycling to work now’,” David tells Jonathan “Then I found out it is an electric bike and you don’t have to pedal.”

And David claimed that Simon was ‘addicted’ to judging, recalling: “He once asked my mum to bake him a Victoria sponge cake.

“He tasted it and went, ‘Oh, bit dry’. He could not help judging it.”
