Rylan Clark-Neal to co-host Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two

Rylan Clark-Neal is joining the It Takes Two hosting team.

The former X Factor star hosted Big Brother’s spin-off Bit On The Side up until the show’s axe by Channel 5 last year.

Rylan had been rumoured to be joining this year’s Strictly celebrity line up, but instead he’s landed a very different job.

The BBC has announced today that Rylan will share presenting duties on the programme with Zoe Ball when it returns for Strictly season later this year.

Zoe shared the news with listeners on her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show this morning, when Rylan Clark-Neal called in as a surprise guest.

Rylan Clark-Neal said: “I can’t begin to explain how excited I am to be joining the Strictly family. I’ve always been a massive fan of It Takes Two and to be working with the amazing Zoe Ball is a dream.

“I’m extremely honoured to be joining such a television institution and can’t wait to bring a lot of mischief to the Strictly bubble. I’m looking forward to getting started and seeing you all soon.”

Zoe Ball added: “I adore Rylan, he’s an absolute wonder, I love his daftness and naughtiness and he’s a brilliant live telly host. He’ll fit right into our It Takes Two family.

“Can’t wait for this new season to start, it’s going be a hoot!”

Dan McGolpin, Controller of BBC Programming and Daytime commented: “We are really excited to welcome Rylan to the Strictly family. He’s a fantastic broadcaster and I can’t think of a better person to help bring our viewers all the latest Strictly news.”

It Takes Two airs weeknights on BBC Two ahead of each Saturday night episode of Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One.

The new series of Strictly will launch in September, hosted by Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly.

This year will see a new line up of judges after Darcey Bussell announced last week that she was quitting the show after seven years.

The current judging line up are Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and head judge Shirley Ballas.
