Strictly’s Alexandra Burke clears up Gemma Atkinson ‘feud’

Alexandra Burke has cleared up her Strictly Come Dancing ‘feud’ with Gemma Atkinson.

It was claimed last year that Gemma’s apparent closeness with pro dancer Gorka Marquez was causing drama behind the scenes.

According to tabloid rumours, Gorka’s celeb partner Alexandra Burke wasn’t happy with him spending time with Gemma, who was partnered with Aljaz Skorjanec.

In an interview on ITV’s Loose Women this week, Alexandra put the rumours to bed.

She said: “As you know, I find it bizarre how stories can be made up with no truth and printed and get permission to be printed with no truth. It blows my mind.

“We never saw anyone. You’re in your own bubble,” she explained, “It was nonsense, he was always with me in the rehearsal studio, ten hours a day.”

Meanwhile, Gemma recently denied she and Gorka were ever together on the show.

During the 2017 series there were rumours of a romance between the pair, and they confirmed on Valentine’s Day it was official.

But Gemma has insisted they were never a couple during filming.

“During the show we only saw each other at weekends everyone was saying ‘oh they’re together’ but we genuinely weren’t,” Gemma told the Manchester Evening News last month.

She explained: “We just went for coffee and stuff on Sundays, not every Sunday.

“You can’t get to know someone just by seeing them at weekends.

“It was only when the tour started that we saw each other all the time and we thought oh ok this could work, and it did, and it does so far!”
