Emily is best known for playing Charlotte Hinchcliffe in the E4 sitcom between 2008 and 2010.

She has also appeared in Rock & Chips and Birds Of A Feather, and the 2016 film Dad’s Army, which starred Bill Nighy and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

However, according to The Sun, Emily is now looking to kickstart her career after television work offers reportedly dried up.

The 28-year-old has apparently decided to brave the creepy crawlies on the jungle show in order to boost her profile.

“I’m A Celeb approached Emily a while ago and she jumped at the chance,” a source said. “She is fed up of doing indie movies and wants some stability in the UK with a big telly gig with lots of coverage.

“She knows being on the show will massively up her profile and hopes it will be a major turning point for her career. They are hoping she will be this year’s bikini babe to recreate Myleene Klass’s iconic shower in the camp waterfall.”

Meanwhile, the Daily Star claim that Emily could prove to be a ‘golden signing’ after being linked to Strictly Come Dancing’s Seann Walsh.

Seann has been in the headlines this month after his kiss with married pro partner Katya Jones. The drama led to Seann’s ex dumping him in an online Twitter statement.

In the fallout, insiders alleged Seann and Emily also previously had a fling in the past. A source told The Sun: “They were really keen on each other. Emily told people she was in love with Seann.”

A spokesperson for ITV said: “Any names at this stage are speculation.”

Other rumoured candidates include reality stars Olivia Attwood and Charlotte Dawson, and model Christine McGuinness, wife of comedian Paddy.

I’m A Celebrity wouldn’t be Emily’s first brush with reality TV.

She previously competed in the fifth series of Dancing On Ice in 2010, making it to the halfway stage.
