Love Island 2018 continued with over 2 million viewers for ITV2 last night.
On Monday, the Love Island launch was the highest rated programme in ITV2’s history based on overnight viewing figures.
2.9 million tuned in, twice last year’s launch before 2.8 million returned for Tuesday’s show.
2.5 continued watching last night’s instalment, as Love Island 2018’s new girls Georgia Steel and Rosie Williams made their grand entrance.
As the new girls got to know the six guys, two new texts arrived for two of the boys, following a public vote to determine which two boys have won dates with the new girls.
Niall was paired up on a date with Georgia while Alex was sent on a date with Rosie. Their dates will air in tonight’s episode.
Love Island was close to beating BBC One in the 9PM hour, with 2.9 million watching Who Do You Think You Are? The new series began looking into Michelle Keegan’s ancestry.
Earlier on the channel, 3 million watched health documentary The Truth About Carbs.
It was ITV’s soaps that topped the night, with 5.8 million watching Emmerdale while 6.5 million and 6.3 million caught Coronation Street’s latest showings.
Britain’s Busiest Airport: Heathrow interested 4.3 million between, but just 1.7 million watched a documentary on the Grenfell Tower fire at 9PM.
