Prince Harry and Meghan: Truly, Madly, Deeply airs tonight on ITV, Monday at 9pm
Amid rumours of an imminent engagement between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, this new documentary charts the history of their romance and asks who is the woman the fifth in line to the throne wants to marry.
The film will tell Meghan’s story, from childhood to her career as an actress, model, successful businesswoman and human rights ambassador. It will examine how Meghan can fit in to the world’s most public family, but also what her arrival will do to the British Monarchy.
Appearing in the show, Meghan’s half-sister Samantha opens up about a supposed family rift and discusses a potential Royal Wedding.
She says of the family “We’re so normal.. their wedding I would love to go, but we have no idea what’s going to happen.”
Meanwhile, Samantha takes aim at reports of Meghan’s childhood.
Talking about the “rags to riches” storyline put forward, Samantha says: “The tabloids wanted to create this ghetto princess story … the African America rags-to-riches Cinderella.
“We were raised in a very beautiful upper middle-class home in the San Fernando Valley of southern California – nowhere near ‘gangland.'”
