Nick Knowles returns to Strictly Come Dancing with a twist

Nick Knowles will return to Strictly Come Dancing this week after being forced out of last week’s live show following a knee injury.

The DIY SOS presenter injured himself following an unfortunate fall while attempting a jump in a dress rehearsal earlier this month, leaving him on crutches.

It meant he and pro partner Luba Mushtuk were unable to dance last weekend.

A spokesperson said at the time: “As per the rules of the competition, Nick and Luba will receive a bye through to next week when he is hopefully able to dance again.”

Nick has now revealed he has been given the all clear to dance again, but he’s not had much time to rehearse.

As a result, he will be returning to perform his planned Movie week dance for this week’s routine, a Charleston to Rain on the Roof from Paddington 2.

A spokesperson for the show confirmed: “We are all delighted that Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk will be dancing in this Saturday’s show.

“Nick has been cleared to dance by the medical and physio teams following his injury last week.

“Due to time taken out of training this week, they will be performing their Movies Week Charleston to Rain On The Roof from Paddington 2.”

This marks the second time Nick has been injured during the Strictly competition.

Earlier in the season, he hurt his shoulder and arm while changing a car tyre but was granted a last-minute reprieve, allowing him to dance.

In his most recent performance, Nick scored 22 points for his American Smooth routine to Blur’s Parklife.

Sunday night will see a third celebrity head home after Olympian Tom Dean and singer Toyah Willcox became the first two stars to be eliminated.

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday and Sunday night on BBC One.
