Miranda set to return for a one-off 10th anniversary special

Miranda is set to return to BBC One for a one-off 10th anniversary special.

The comedy series, created, written and starring Miranda Hart, last aired in 2015.

But this morning (July 19), Miranda took to Twitter to reveal that the news that she’s working on a new special.

“Hello to you – I am with news,” Miranda wrote. “So in November, it will be 10 years since the first episode of Miranda aired. We are 10! And we have decided to have a party.

“The Miranda cast on and off screen are all about play, being free to be ourselves and silliness, so we are amazed and delighted that BBC One have agreed that our celebrations will be recorded as a one hour special later in the year.

“I will keep you posted, but I suspect there might just be some special guests, probably the odd bit of dancing, definitely some drinks and nibbles.

“And you know what I hope it will be – SUCH FUN for us, but more importantly for you, all you lovely friends of the show for whom I shall be forever grateful for your support. See you soon.”

Miranda premiered in 2009 on BBC one and ran for three series until 2012. Two specials followed in 2014 and 2015, the last episodes to date.

You can watch the entire series online or get it on DVD from Amazon or iTunes.

The news of a Miranda special follows the BBC announcing that Gavin & Stacey would also return this Christmas for a one-off special.

Creators and writers Ruth Jones and James Corden said: “Over the last ten years we’ve talked a lot about Gavin and Stacey – where they might be today and what their lives might look like.

“And so in secret we took the plunge and wrote this one hour special.
