Love Island’s Amber Davies ‘in talks to join Coronation Street’

Amber Davies is reportedly in talks to join the cast of Coronation Street.

Amber won Series 3 of ITV2’s Love Island last summer with then boyfriend Kem Cetinay.

After almost six months together, the couple called it a day last month just before Christmas.

“With sadness, we’ve decided to separate,” they said in a joint statement. “We fell in love in the villa and want to thank all the fans of the show for supporting us.

“Our schedules made it difficult. We’ll remain good friends.”

Now Amber is looking to bounce back from the break up and focus on her career.

According to The Sun newspaper, she has been in talks to appear on ITV soap Corrie.

“Amber had a secret meeting with the casting director on Corrie last week and things were looking promising,” an insider spilled. “Her acting agent had set up the discussion and she came away from the mini-audition full of confidence and bosses certainly liked her.

“She’s been determined to get into acting ever since winning Love Island so it felt like a positive move.”

It follows Amber telling ITV’s Lorraine she wanted to move into acting.

The reality star explained: “I’d love to go into a soap. I’d like to use my talent and passion and have a long nice future in what I want to do.

“I’ll always be grateful as it gave me that platform but I’m trying to work as hard as I possibly can.”

Meanwhile, Amber said she wouldn’t rule out a reunion with Kem.

She said: “I’m not ruling anything out for the future, we both need to concentrate on our careers.

“We both – well I need to grow up a bit before I commit to anything too serious.

“But I’ll always have a place in my heart for him.”
