Netflix has unveiled a first trailer of its upcoming music documentary by Beyonce – out today.
Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé will premiere worldwide on the streaming service on April 17, 2019 at 8AM UK time (BST).
Netflix describes Homecoming as “an intimate look at Beyoncé’s historic 2018 Coachella performance that paid homage to America’s historically black colleges and universities.”
The film will be interspersed with candid footage and interviews detailing the preparation and powerful intent behind her vision, tracing the emotional road from creative concept to cultural movement.
A 90 second trailer shared online this week features clips from Beyonce’s Coachella set, backstage rehearsals as well as personal film of the singer and her family; husband Jay-Z and children Blue Ivy Carter and twins Rumi & Sir Carter.
In just a day, the trailer has been viewed over a million times and people are hyped for the film.
“I’ve never had so much goosebumps by watching a Netflix announcement,” one reacted to the trailer online.
Another joked: “Welp let me be the first to tell the truth to myself first… and then to my job.. I won’t be making it in. If I can’t call in sick then I’ll call in dead ?”
And a third added: “I hope Netflix got them severs ready we about to break live streaming.”
The Netflix UK release date and time for Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé is April 17, 2019 at 8AM, UK time (BST).
It’s the latest exclusive Netflix music documentary, with others including Lady Gaga’s Gaga: Five Foot Two which debuted in September 2017.
The streaming service has also been boosting its library with concert tours.
The concert film Justin Timberlake + The Tennessee Kids and Taylor Swift’s reputation Stadium Tour are among the latest to be added.
