Kirstie and Phil’s Love It or List It (Series 9, Episode 3)

Kirstie Allsopp, with her extensive experience in home renovations, steps in to resolve disputes among couples across the UK, urging them to appreciate their homes amidst rising construction costs.

Phil Spencer, buoyed by his recent series triumph, showcases stunning properties, aiming to convince families to sell their current residences. In Caterham, Surrey, Kirstie and Phil assist Ruth and Ken with their three-storey townhouse dilemma.

Having lived there for 13 years with their large, blended family, the house is now a source of disagreement as their children have grown up and moved out. Ruth, frustrated by the separate kitchen and lounge and feeling overlooked, is keen to sell.

Ken, a passionate DIY enthusiast, hopes to keep the house. He believes Kirstie can sway Ruth’s decision, given his efforts in renovating their home. Faced with a substantial challenge, Kirstie plans to redesign the house into an open-plan kitchen and living area on one level with a £60k budget.

Meanwhile, Phil searches for an ideal home, featuring an open-plan design, private garden, and a garage for Ken’s tools, with a £650k budget. Both face daunting tasks, but once the renovations are complete, will Ruth and Ken decide to love it or list it?
