Jimmy Doherty and Matt Tebbutt set off on a remarkable journey through the American Deep South.

Their adventure begins in New Orleans, on the Gulf Coast, where they explore the potential of oyster shells, abundant from local consumption, in safeguarding the coastline.

As they travel through Mississippi, they delve into the unique qualities of southern sweet tea, contrasting it with traditional British tea. In Alabama, Matt investigates the region’s penchant for frying green tomatoes, while Jimmy delves into the nature of grits.

Their journey takes them to Tennessee, where they visit the Jack Daniels distillery to uncover the process of sour mash.

Concluding in Louisville, a crossroads of the South and North, they explore the principles behind the uniformity of fast food at the Kentucky Fried Chicken headquarters.
