24 Hours in Police Custody (Murder on Camera)

24 Hours in Police Custody returns tonight with a special double episode, Murder on Camera.

This intense two-part documentary delves into a harrowing double murder in Houghton Regis.

In the early hours of a Sunday, near a local pub, chaos unfolds. The police and ambulance services are met with a shocking scene: one man dead on the road and another critically injured with multiple stab wounds. A third victim, also grievously wounded, is discovered in a nearby garden.

The Major Crime Unit of Bedfordshire Police takes us through the aftermath, with cameras capturing the investigation’s every turn. The tight-knit community remains silent, offering no leads.

For new detective DC Jacob Hobday, this is his inaugural double murder case. He grapples with the community’s code of silence, questioning the misplaced loyalties that allow such violence to perpetrate.

As the search for justice continues, episode two follows the intensifying manhunt for the prime suspect, believed to have stabbed all three victims and currently on the run.

The Major Crime Unit, led by DI Sam Khanna, struggles to understand the brutality that erupted from a mere pub argument.

In a dramatic turn, a potential confession letter from the fugitive surfaces, adding a compelling layer to this real-life drama.

With suspects in custody but the key perpetrator still at large, the series provides a gripping insight into a case where the reality is more disturbing than fiction.

24 Hours in Police Custody airs on Channel 4 on Monday, 8 January 2024 at 9:00PM.
