Ralf Little returns to play DI Neville Parker in brand new episodes of the BBC One series, with a release date confirmed for Sunday, 4 February.

The new series of Death in Paradise opens with a significant milestone – its 100th episode. This special episode marks Commissioner Selwyn Patterson’s fifty years in police service. However, celebrations turn grim as he is critically injured by a shadowy assassin. The shocking event leaves the team and the entire island in turmoil, raising the crucial question: Can Selwyn pull through?

Who’s on the cast?

This landmark episode is not just about suspense; it also welcomes a stellar cast of guest stars. Sean Maguire, known for The 100, returns to the show, being the first guest star to reappear since the series debut in 2011. He is joined by Leon Herbert from Outlander, Cathy Tyson of Boiling Point, and Mensah Bediako from Andor.

The rest of the series promises equally gripping storylines. Marlon grapples with life-changing decisions, Naomi embarks on a double date with Darlene, and Catherine finds herself at the heart of a murder case involving an old friend. The series also introduces new characters and sees familiar faces return to Saint Marie. Neville, the often luckless detective, is faced with a critical choice that could change his life.

Expect a series filled with intrigue and suspense, including a perilous game of bingo, a poisoning incident at a culinary contest, a mysterious death during a blackout, and a baffling case of murder in an elevator.

Also joining the guest cast for the new series are Academy Award winner Hayley Mills (Unforgotten), Ellie Haddington (Motherland), Kate Robbins (Unforgotten), Pearce Quigley (Detectorists), Ronni Ancona (Last Tango in Halifax), Richard Fleeshman (The Ark), Juliet Cowan (The Power), Shvorne Marks (The Walk-In), Michael Fenton Stevens (Hapless), Ben Wiggins (You), Guy Henry (Holby City), Kevin Garry (Ted Lasso), Taj Atwal (Hullraisers), Emma Naomi (Bridgerton), Gabrielle Glaister (Coronation Street), Elise Chappell (Poldark), Ali Ariaie (The Great), Eve Posonby (Carnival Row), Emma Sidi (Starstruck), Calvin Demba (The Rig), Rachel Adedeji (Hollyoaks), Richard Lintern (Nolly) and more, along with the return of Selwyn’s daughter Andrina, played by Genesis Lynea (Champion).
