My Mum, Your Dad: All about new dating show with Davina McCall
Telly legend Davina McCall is to front a brand new dating show on ITV.
Titled My Mum, Your Dad, the broadcaster says the show will “open the nation’s hearts to a whole new world of grown-up love.”
Described as a brand new dating show for the whole family, a teaser shares: “My Mum, Your Dad follows a group of single parents who have been nominated by their grown-up kids for a second chance at love.
“Across 10 hour-long episodes, audiences will be able to follow the single parents, from all over the UK, and all walks of life, as they live together at a stunning country house retreat with one objective: to find true love.
But there’s a twist – unbeknownst to the parents, their kids will be watching their every move from a nearby location called ‘The Bunker’.
“It is there in the surveillance room that they’ll be able to witness all the action of their parents’ journeys to find love, plus get the opportunity to play matchmaker and decide their mum or dad’s dating fate.
The series will air on ITV1 and ITVX later in autumn 2023 with an exact start date to be announced.
Host Davina McCall said: “Thank goodness the secret is finally out! I’ve been bursting to tell!!! I’m so so excited to host My Mum, Your Dad – this show will have you so invested in the people in it.
“Fascinating, vibrant individuals who have lived incredible lives already, with a million life lessons under their belts, as they search for their perfect life partner. But also with the juiciest twist of any show I’ve ever worked on.”
News of the new show comes after Davina previously pitched her idea for a Love Island style show for those a little older.
She told Stephen Bartlett’s The Diary of a CEO podcast: “I could fill a villa in Love Island with middle-aged people with the best back stories you have ever heard in your life.
“They’ve lived a life – they’re widows, they’re people who have been through horrific divorces. They are people who have split up with somebody and decided they want to try going out with somebody the same sex as them. They’re like interesting people. I’d watch that show.”
