Darcy Oake stuns on Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions with daredevil trick

How did he do that?!

Darcy Oake left the Britain’s Got Talent judges speechless in tonight’s episode of The Champions.

The new special series welcomes back acts from the past 13 years of BGT together with contestants from Got Talent shows across the world, all competing to be crowned the ultimate champion and walk away with the cash prize and coveted Champions Trophy.

This weekend was the third heat with nine more acts competing for two spaces in the grand final.

One of those performing was Canadian illusionist Darcy Oake.

He previously made the final of Britain’s Got Talent in 2014 where he stunned the judges with tricks involving doves.

Returning to BGT this weekend, Darcy’s latest ridiculous daredevil trick saw him attempt to escape from a padlocked box which was hoisted above the stage and primed to explode within 60 seconds.

Darcy escaped from the exploding box, only to magically appear at the back of the arena to the shock of the judges – and hosts Ant and Dec.

“What the hell?!” reacted Ant.

Simon Cowell praised the performance, describing Darcy as the “ultimate showman”

However pregnant Alesha Dixon confessed it wasn’t the best thing to watch for her nerves.

In each heat of Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions, two acts will progress through to the grand final.

Judges Simon, Alesha, Amanda and David Walliams as well as hosts Ant and Dec will each pick one act via the golden buzzer, while an audience vote will decide the second.

The opening round saw Ukrainian sand artist Kseniya Simonova win the Golden Buzzer from Amanda while American daredevil duo Bello and Annaliese Nock won the superfan vote.

Last weekend saw German dog act Alexa Lauenburger win Ant and Dec’s golden buzzer and dancers MerseyGirls win the audience vote.

Alongside Darcy, acts taking part in this week’s third heat included 2016 winning magician Richard Jones, comedian Jack Carroll, singing Welsh brothers Richard and Adam and salsa dancers Paddy & Nico, who got David’s golden buzzer.

Joining them are acts from other Got Talent competitions: Spain’s Cristina Ramos, DJ Arch Jr from South Africa, dance group The Fire from Holland’s Got Talent and dance group Mayyas from Lebanon who first appeared on Arabs Got Talent.

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions airs Saturday nights on ITV.
